LIVING WITH GOD
Living with God means living
in my heart, meaning
literally that
fleshly thing in my left
breast, pumping blood.
Living with God means
the Universe closed
up in my heart, meaning
everything, so that the stars
run with my heart's
blood, and the dead
are there too, and my
family and friends,
all dwelling
together in my left
breast, living with God.
Living with God means something
more joyfully burdensome than Nietzsche's
eternal return of the same - it means
the resurrection of the flesh, meaning
every movement of the flesh
from childhood to 'death'
not coming back at regular
or irregular intervals, but
present and unchanging,
eternally
living with God.
Living with God means hearing always
the voice that sounds
in the Book of Hosea,
proclaiming a relentless,
eternally unrequited love,
a love that reaches
far beyond the stars,
a love bathing
in the heart's blood.
Living with God means living
not in the thoughts or dreams
of the mind, nor in feelings
or emotions but
in the flesh
and the blood.
God's flesh.
God's blood.
