Previous poem - Dissatisfaction
EASTER 2018
This discomfort -
uncomfortable enough in the comfort
of my home - what would it be like
in the discomfort of
a UNHCR camp,
this diarrhea, this
inability to piss.
We do not know
what pain and discomfort are
out in the cold
under the stars, the
splendour of God's Universe.
Those columns of men
and women and children
know Nature so
intimately as they trudge
through the snow, through the rain, across
the beautiful mountain pass.
So, this poem seems
to be coming together - the rhymes
and half rhymes find their place.
I approve. I nod
approvingly as I sit - leaning my back
comfortably
against the Cross.
